The first line here is the Beloved (which is us) speaking and the second is the Lover (which is God) speaking.
The second line is a description of how God sees us. I know it seems like a really girly thing to be compared to a flower, but this verse is not just talking about feminine beauty but about the worth that a person has in God’s eyes. It means that you are unique and special to God. To him you are (whether male or female) like that one splendid flower sprouting from between a net of thorns.
The Beloved knows who she is, she knows that she is beautiful and valuable; she knows how her lover feels about her. We all need to know just how precious we are to God and how he feels about us. We have to know it and not let ourselves forget it no matter what we may face. The best way to find out how God feels about you is to simply ask. His answers are wonderful and often astounding.
